Perinatal Psychotherapy
The perinatal period—from conception through the first five years after birth—is one of the most transformative times in a woman’s life. Yet in our fast-paced culture, the emotional, psychological, and physical complexities of this stage are often underestimated or dismissed.
I offer trauma-informed perinatal mental health care for birthing parents and caregivers. In our work together, we’ll work to strengthen your sense of self, support emotional regulation, and deepen the connection with your child and partner. I draw on somatic tools, talk therapy, trauma-processing methods, and a trusted referral network of perinatal specialists in Seattle and throughout Washington.
Trauma Processing
Traumatic experiences during the perinatal period can leave lasting emotional imprints. These wounds often resurface in ways that affect self-worth, relationships, and the transition to parenthood.
As a trauma-informed therapist in the Seattle area, I offer Lifespan Integration (LI) sessions. LI is a body-based, neuroscience-informed modality that helps rewire the brain’s response to trauma by integrating past events into a coherent personal narrative.
I use LI in both short-term and ongoing therapy, often alongside traditional talk therapy, to support emotional regulation, resilience, and lasting healing.
Parenting
Parenting in today’s world can feel emotionally exhausting and isolating. The constant demands of work, relationships, and caregiving often leave little room for self-reflection or rest. Many parents find themselves overwhelmed, burned out, or disconnected from their own needs—and unsure how to ask for support.
In our sessions, you’ll find a compassionate space to explore the emotional weight of parenting. We’ll address the anxiety, guilt, and identity shifts that arise, and develop strategies to help you reconnect to yourself and your values.
My approach includes tailored emotional support, practical parenting resources, and tools to strengthen self-compassion and resilience.
Grief and Loss
Losing a pregnancy, infant, child, or partner is a heartbreaking and deeply personal experience. Many grieving parents feel isolated, surrounded by silence, misunderstanding, or well-meaning support that falls short. The weight of unacknowledged grief can make healing feel impossible.
At Women’s Work Therapy, I offer a compassionate space to process your loss with honesty and care. Whether you're navigating fertility challenges, miscarriage, stillbirth, medical termination, or the death of a child, our work together will honor your unique grief, challenge the stigma, and help you begin to reclaim your story.
